Mini-implant Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE) allows true skeletal widening of the upper jaw in adults and late adolescents — reliably, and without surgery. Depending on bone quality and biomechanics, treatment may use 4, 6, or 8 miniscrews to stabilise the appliance and achieve predictable maxillary expansion once thought possible only in children.

Yes. Miniscrew-supported expansion allows many adults and late teens to widen the upper jaw without surgery.
Not always. MARPE addresses transverse problems and selected Class III cases (sometimes with a facemask). Suitability is confirmed after imaging and assessment.
In selected adult patients, MARPE expansion can be performed together with Invisalign treatment.
This approach allows alignment of the teeth during expansion and may reduce the visible gap that often forms between the front teeth during traditional expansion.
Simultaneous MARPE and Invisalign treatment allows tooth alignment to begin immediately after expansion starts, rather than waiting until expansion is complete.
Not all patients are suitable candidates for simultaneous MARPE and Invisalign treatment. A specialist orthodontic assessment determines whether this approach is appropriate.
